• London Borough of Sutton Neighbourhood Fund Project Prioritisation

    Help shape local investment across the London Borough of Sutton by reviewing community projects proposed for your neighbourhood.
  • If you live, work or spend time in Sutton, you can help to shape local investment across the area. Please use this form to tell us which projects matter most to you.
    You can indicate how much you support each project by providing a rating on how much you think it is needed in the area. This will help to inform decision-making at your Local Committee.

    You will have the opportunity to rate local projects first, followed by boroughwide initiatives, which can benefit residents across the entire community.

    Please rate each project proposal on a scale of 1 to 5:

    1 = Very Low Community Need (-2 points)

    2 = Low Community Need (-1 point)

    3 = Neutral / No Strong Opinion (0 points)

    4 = High Community Need (+1 point)

    5 = Very High Community Need (+2 points)

    Neutral responses (3) do not add or subtract from a project's score. Projects that receive broad positive support will move to the top of the priority list.

    £15,434.00
    Match Funding from Manor Park Friends Group - £6,800...

    Manor Park, Throwley Way, SM1 4AF

  • The Manor Park Community Garden project will transform an underused space in Manor Park to create a community garden centred around nature and a new picnic area. The aim is to install three eight seater, wheelchair friendly picnic table/chair sets, plus three inclusive raised beds for community use. The project will cater for disabled or elderly residents, plus families and local groups and schools. We will also provide wildlife friendly planting to be maintained by Manor Park Friends and other community groups, plus a big Bee Hotel for wildlife habitat. Manor Park is set in an area with many new residents, most of whom do not have private gardens, and is a lifeline for local families. Currently, the only picnic benches are located in the playground, which gets very crowded and is not dog-friendly. The current wildflower bed has been sown with annuals for some years and has exhausted its natural lifespan. The council has agreed to relocate this, leaving a well-defined area for us to work with. We have support for this project from Sutton Council, Ward Councillors and a number of community groups (e.g. Sutton Refugee and Migrant Network(, plus the general public.*

    Manor Park Hedge Protection
    £506.00

    Manor Park, SM1 4AF

  • A chestnut pailing fence is required to protect the recently planted hedge plants from disturbance. As the hedge is located adjacent to a playground, the fence will help to prevent damage to the young plants whilst they become established. A native hedge was planted in Manor Park in early 2026. The community tree planting event was carried out by Sutton Tree Warden volunteers and the Friends of Manor Park. The new hedge was a replacement for a dead box hedge. Unfortunately due to the proximity to the playground the tree supports (canes & guards) are being removed, exposing the trees to damage. A fence would protect the trees until they are established. We would be using sweet chestnut pailing fencing, a natural-looking solution that integrates well with its surroundings. The installation of the fence would be carried out for free by the Sutton Tree Wardens.*

Now the build is underway and is not impacting on the field where the strip is located we would like to resurface the strip and open it for bookings.*

    Gander Green Lane Old Trading Hut
    £5,000.00

    Gander Green Lane Allotments, SM1 2ER

  • There are 2 large connected sheds at Gander Green Lane which were formally used as a trading hut. The building is very old and has an asbestos roof. It needs removing but must be done following the correct requirements for the disposal of asbestos so we have had to ask that the allotment rep and tenants do not remove it themselves, which was their intention. We sought a quotation from the councils preferred supplier, Rhodar, but the quote exceeded £10,000 which was not affordable. We have since identified another contractor who has the legal permissions to remove and dispose of asbestos and can provide the correct certification. They can safely remove the building and dispose of it at half the price of the original quote.*
