• Submit a question to your Local Committee

  • To submit a question about an issue affecting your area to your Local Committee, please use this form. The question must relate to an issue affecting the local area or an item on the agenda. As the question will be answered by the council your question should be addressed to the council rather than to councillors/officers.

Your question will be published, with your name and organisation you are representing (if applicable) and will be included in the minutes of the meeting. Your other personal information will not be shared or published.

Where questions are received five working days before the committee meeting, officers will endeavour to return a response by the date of that meeting. A question received after this deadline will receive a written response after the meeting. No more than two formal written questions may be taken from any one individual or group per meeting.

Where a written response has been returned prior to the meeting, the individual or group questioner may ask one supplementary question per formal written question at the meeting itself. The supplementary question must be relevant to the original question.

Your question may not be answered if:
    - It does not affect you local area.
    - Sutton Council does not have authority over.
    - Is defamatory, frivolous or offensive.
    - Requires disclosing confidential information.
    - Concerns a planning or licencing application.

For further guidance please contact committee.services@sutton.gov.uk.
